Savoury Garlic Grenki
Savoury garlic grenki have little in common with sweet grenki toasts.
Garlic grenki are crunchy breads and are popular finger food in Russia. Quite often they are served as a beer snack in a company of friends. They are also great with a nice bowl or heart warming soup, such as borscht…mmm…yum!

- rye bread
- vegetable oil
- grated cheese (optional)
- Cut the rye bread into strips
- Fry until golden and crisp in preheated oil. Soak up the excess oil over paper towels or serviette
- Rub the cut garlic clove into the strips, dipping the clove into the salt
- Optional step: Sprinkle grated cheese
- Serve warm. Enjoy!
